Cognitec develops market-leading face recognition technology and applications for enterprise and government customers around the world. Various independent evaluation tests have proven the premier performance of the FaceVACS® software. Cognitec’s portfolio includes products for facial image database search, video screening and analytics, border control, ICAO compliant photo capturing and facial image quality assessment. Corporate headquarters are located in Dresden, Germany; other offices in Rockland, MA, USA and Sydney, Australia.

The FaceVACS-VideoScan product detects people’s faces in live video streams and video footage and enables anonymous facial analysis to count and track individuals, generate demographical information, find frequent visitors and detect crowds. The software also compares faces to image databases and identifies known individuals.

FaceVACS-DBScan compares facial images from different sources to multi-million image databases and instantly creates a match list of the most similar faces. The Examiner toolset offers a powerful user interface for law enforcement customers to perform image enhancement and inspection. The mobile version allows officers to take images at the scene and compare them to central databases. Cognitec recently added a video module that allows investigators to quickly extract optimal facial images from recorded video files and select probes for database comparison.
