International event to be hosted by UAE next year will help devise range of national strategies
Security risks and international cooperation to eliminate terrorism will be on the broad agenda of the fifth International Security and National Resilience Exhibition and Conference (ISNR) 2012. The conclave, to be held from March 19 to 21 next year at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre is organised by Reed Exhibitions Middle East in coordination with the UAE Ministry of Interior.

ISNR will focus on the challenges governments and businesses in the region face with regards to national security. Security information, threat assessment, border and transport security, anti- terrorism, protection of critical facilities, crisis and disaster management will be among key topics.

"ISNR is an opportunity for the Ministry of Interior to assess the latest developments and needs related to security and emergency response, and gain access to the security and policing experiences of developed countries," said Major General Mattar Al Niyadi, director-general of electronic services and communications at the Ministry of Interior, and chairman of ISNR Supreme Organising Committee (SOC). ISNR 2012 is expected to achieve a 20 per cent growth in comparison to ISNR 2010.

"ISNR 2012 will see more international participants. There is a growing interest in Germany, France, UK and the US. South Africa and Turkey will participate for the first time," Frederic Theux, president of Reed Exhibitions Middle East told Gulf News.
