From August 12 to 23, 2011, the 26th Universiade will be held in Shenzhen, China. Hytera will offer communications support to the grand event with its terminals as well as system equipments. Shenzhen Universiade 2011 has 63 venues in total, including 22 newly constructed venues and 10 temporary venues. Efficient communication and dispatching in venues is critical to the smooth operation of the event. However, wireless coverage in sport venues has always been a challenge, as gigantic steel & concrete structure imposes daunting barrier to signal transmission. To conquer this challenge, Hytera proposed a complete wireless communications solution tailored to this event, including covering plan, deployment connectivity and on-site support service. Besides rugged and multi-function terminals, repeaters will be applied in 10 venues with serious signal interference to enlarge coverage, achieving seamless communications and dispatching inside the venues. Currently, Hytera has accomplished the antenna system construction in 6 venues. And up to March, 1000 Hytera terminals TC700/780 have already been delivered. Hytera also offers professional advices to the clients for equipment distribution according to the situation of each venue. Hytera project manager said, "To ensure smooth implementation of the Universiade communications project, Hytera formed a project team to handle this project later last year. During test games, Hytera engineers will offer professional training to all equipment users; while in official games, an engineer team of about 20 personnel will provide on-site services for all venues."
